Want to avoid lines for their Take the Lake Personal Endurance Challenges this weekend? Get your numbered bibs, t-shirts and hats – even register – at the new Take the Lake Emporium flash-store all this week. Set in a corner of Herald Office Systems, next to The News Reporter in Whiteville, the Emporium was founded to accommodate the increasing popularity of Take the Lake, now in its third year, and with preregistration reaching 600 participants.
Bibs will be available for those who registered on line by 5 p.m. the day before, or people may register and receive their numbered bibs right in the store. Take the Lake merchandise will be available for donations. T-shirts, with four-color printing are $12, hats in three colors are $10, and bumper stickers and Crew Tokens are $2 (when they arrive). Limited quantities of all items were ordered, so their availability is “while they last.” The Emporium will be open during normal business hours, closing early, at 3 p.m. Friday. Volunteers from RSVP will staff the Emporium, and anyone interested in volunteering for Take the Lake (or any other fun activity) should contact Melody Prevatte, at 642-7141, ext. 294 (seniors), or Julie Stocks at 646-3583 (everyone else.) Join in the TTL training fun, and leave a comment!
