- Why you signed up for TTL-X! : So I can participate in these cool events and also organize them.
- How well you think you'll do: Not sure what I'll do this year, as my main motivator, Brett Gore, has dropped out and moved on, handing me some kind of crazy excuse: "Mark, there's more to life than the X-TREME!" Actually, I know that he just can't stand the thought of getting his tail kicked by a 14-year-old girl (see Jozi, below.)

- Why you signed up for TTL-X! : I am always looking for some other way to push my body. Sports have been a big part of my life and when something new like the X-treme! is presented, I have to give it a go!

- I'm a Newly enlisted marine so I think this race will be a good pre-basic training warm up. I'm young and strong and mostly really determined so I think I'll do OK... hopefully!

- How well you think you'll do: NOTE: Walter and Jan take their time. Since they both do each event together, they have to record their slowest times, (like playing golf and scoring the worst shots on each hole). But they enjoy the full day of intense company, and are looking forward to 2014! (M.G.)

History: Jessica will kick us off with the swim (she conquered this last year as an individual competitor and she kicked butt!) Then Jason will take over on the bike and roll us through the second leg - we feel pretty confident he will cruise in good time considering he takes weekly bike rides of 20 miles or more - then we tag in Daniel with the paddle strength to kick major booty out on the Lake - Marjorie will run us home with some half-marathon experience under her belt, we are sure she can do it in under 3 hours.
Format: Gang Start Predicted Total Finish Time: Why other teams should be intimidated: We may not be first (haven't checked out the competition yet) but we are sure we will finish strong. We are a team of dedicated spouses and parents hoping to set a healthy example for our friends, family and especially our children. Fitness can be FUN!! Now let's TAKE THE LAKE!!! |
