2017 Events at Take the Lake

We are just over two weeks away from the 2017 Take the Lake festivities. As we prepare for the weekend, check out the schedule all in one place!

Friday, Sept. 1 - Take the Plate Pasta Supper - 5 - 7:30 p.m. - Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church
This special meal is for anyone in town for the weekend, not just the event participants. This year will honor the Health Provider theme with comments by Terrie Priest and Kim Smith representing the Columbus Regional Health System and the Health Department respectively. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to support the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church and a health related mission project.

Saturday, Sept. 2 - Elizabeth Brinkley Park
  • 7 - 7:45 a.m. - Registration for any event
  • 7:15 a.m. - Start 16-mile Walk/Run for those who have previously registered online
  • 8 a.m. - State 16-mile Walk/Run for everyone else
  • 8:30 a.m. - Start 6.5 mile Family Fun Walk (no early start)

Sunday, Sept. 3
Dale's Seafood Lake Front
  • 7 - 7:45 a.m. - Registration for the Paddle
  • 8 a.m. - Start 14-mile Paddle around Lake Waccamaw
Elizabeth Brinkley Park
  • 1 - 1:45 p.m. - Registration for the Bike Rides
  • 2 p.m. - Start 16-mile Bike Ride (HELMET REQUIRED)
  • 2:30 p.m. - Start 6.5-mile Fun Family Bike Ride (HELMET REQUIRED)

Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4 - Dale's Seafood Lake Front or Dam (Site to be determined)
  • 6:30 a.m. - Start X-Treme events (all 4 challenges in one day)
  • 7 - 7:45 a.m. - Registration for swim
  • 8 a.m. - Start 4-mile swim across the lake (see details and requirements)

My wife won the ladies swim last year Lisa fort, She missed getting the poker chip for the swim could you send one to her attention @ 533 Runner Stone Drive Evington va 24550
