Ken Brewer of Lake Waccamaw wrote us a note inviting anyone to join him in training for Take the Lake: "I practice paddling the whole lake several times prior to TTL. (Usually Sunday mornings DEPENDING ON WEATHER.) I'd be available for others to join in a practice paddle. I'll be a third year TTL paddler this year." Phone # 646-3563

Had a great paddle around the whole lake on Sunday 8/4. A couple guys who'd never paddled the entire lake joined me. Looks like we'll have 2 more TTL paddlers this year!

Go Ken – I am loving this! Can't wait to see more than 100 beautiful, colorful kayaks floating around Dale's Sept. 1. Also, we'd love for people to hang out in their kayaks the next day and watch the swimmers go by. Help if needed.

We'll most likely paddle again this Sunday 8/11...weather permitting. Anyone's welcome to join for a full lake or partial paddle. Don't forget sunscreen & planty of water,Gatorade, etc. Also remember...a life jacket, vest or cushion is required by law on the lake. It doesn't have to be worn but has to be in reach. We'll meet at Dale's. Departed at 9 last Sunday. May try for an hour esrlier this week. The wind's are usually lighter the earlier it is.
