Congratulations to Rachel Smith and her volunteers, who organized a 5K run this weekend. The Reindeer Dash attracted nearly 200 participants who ran from Edgewood Elementary School in Whiteville, through McKenzie Woods subdivision a few times, and back.
Open to the public, the event was also a final run for area schoolchildren participating in Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. Smith has been integral in bringing those exciting exercise and confidence-building programs to the county, and we are so pleased with her efforts!
