![]() Justin Smith photo Al West, SCC director of nursing, and Myra Thompson, nursing instructor, make a surprise appearance at the College’s faculty and staff convocation Monday, aboard the SCC Minnow. The pair encouraged their colleagues to participate in Take the Lake, a set of personal endurance challenges that will take place at Lake Waccamaw Labor Day Weekend. This year’s Take the Lake will honor educators, so SCC is planning to be well represented. The college is participating in Take the Lake in a big way, with a team competing in the one-day X-TREME! challenge August 25, and super support over Labor Day weekend. Faculty and staff will organize at least one "hospitality house" on the route to provide water, nourishment and cheer to participants, and spread the Ram spirit. They will also have a Roving Ram golf cart with Join in the TTL training fun, and leave a comment!
