"Are you ready boots?
Start training!"
Kendall Bush
Kendall, a sports standout at Whiteville High School, planned her Take the Lake achievements early on, accepting one Personal Endurance Challenge her freshman year at WHS, and adding one each year until her senior year when she completed all four.
Jordan Edwards
Jordan credits her father and family with not only the support she needed through the 48 miles of challenges, but also his insistance that she indeed was capable, and keeping within her the confidence to move forward.
Madison Hege
When Madison saw one of her friends complete all four PECs in 2011, she set out to follow in her footsteps... and more.
Samantha Lane
Samantha was the youngest person in 2008 to complete the swim, in the first year as a Take the Lake event. She took it easy for a while (in middle school) accepting a few Personal Endurance Challenges, and in 2012, she tackled all four. UPDATE: August 24, 2013 Samantha Lane completes the 2013 Take the Lake X-TREME! in 14:46 - go Sam!
Madison McCullen
In 2011, Madelyn surprised many people - but not herself, we believe - when she accepted and completed all four Personal Endurance Challenges. Coincidentally, she became our poster girl and has inspired many people to Take the Lake and live more healthy lifestyles.
Jozi Patterson
Jozi, age 13 by only two days, inspired her mother to accept the Swim Personal Endurance Challenge, and when Jozi finished first, she got in the boat and went back to Mom so they could swim to the finish together.
